Joanna Wyatt, Chair
Read a recent interview with Joanna by the Vancouver Guardian. Joanna (she/her) joined the board of Our Social Fabric in January 2020 shortly after she retired from a 40+ year career in corporate communications. Joanna wanted to share some of the skills she developed during her working life to help a non-profit organization. She loves to sew and Our Social Fabric and its mission to keep perfectly usable fabric and notions out of the landfill made it a great fit. Joanna's mother taught her to sew when she was a teenager and she has loved looking at fabric and imagining what she could create ever since! Now, when she travels, fabric stores are high on the list of places she wishes to visit and explore. Her best days are spent in her sewing room creating clothes and bags for family and friends and herself of course! |

MaryAn Webb, Director of Education and Community Outreach and Secretary MaryAn (she/her) is an educator and designer from Vancouver. She has a fashion design degree from KPU and an education degree from UBC. MaryAn’s passion for sustainability began as a young girl, inspired by her Baba (Grandma) who recycled old clothes into quilts and turned bedsheets into magical dresses. MaryAn takes great pride in using sustainable resources to create anti-fast fashion clothing and thoroughly enjoys teaching others how to do the same. She finds volunteering at OSF fulfilling and inspiring. |

Jacquelyne Allen, Vice-Chair Jacquelyne (she/her) discovered Our Social Fabric shortly after moving to Vancouver from Alberta in 2017. Inspired by the variety of fabrics, and endless possibilities to create with fabric, Jacquelyne has become an avid quilter. In her role as Donations Coordinator, Jacquelyne enjoys connecting with donors and supporting their efforts to keep fabric and sewing-related materials from the landfill. Prior to moving to BC, Jacquelyne owned and operated a Residential Interior Design business where she took great pleasure in working with her clients to help realize the full potential of their homes. Currently she and her partner run a Home Improvement Service where they take pride in helping property owners keep their properties in working order and up to date in their design. |
