What to expect in-store
Our store is run by Marina and our team of volunteers who gather and curate an amazing selection of fabrics.
Every single thing in our store has been donated to us and might otherwise have ended up in the landfill. We provide a sustainable AND wallet-friendly shopping experience as all our fabrics and supplies are priced at up to 75% less than regular retail prices.
With a team of friendly and knowledgeable volunteers, we welcome you to check out our store and ask us anything fabric and sewing-related.
Don’t forget, our sales events offer a different selection of fabrics to our online store so make sure you come along so you don’t miss out on a one-of-a-kind bargain.
Looking for a new-to-you sewing machine? These machines are out on our shop floor ready for you to view.
What do you need to know before the sale?
- Please bring your own shopping bags.
- Payment will be taken by credit and debit card only. Sorry, we do not accept cash.
- Our store is dog-friendly - please see dog policy below.
Location
You can find us at:
270-1275 Venables Street, Vancouver, BC V6A 2E4 Canada
During our open hours, you'll see lots of signage showing you how to get to the store. From the parking lot, enter the main blue door from the parking lot marked 1275 Venables. Walk up the stairs to the second floor and turn left. Follow the signs to OSF, Suite #270.
Car Parking
Thursdays after 4 pm: Park in designated visitor spaces or in front of the Russell Hendrix store.
Sundays: Customers can use marked visitor spaces or park in front of the Russell Hendrix store.
Additional parking can be found westbound on Venables, just beyond the parking lot entrance. Remember to park responsibly to avoid any unexpected issues.
Accessibility
It’s very important to us that anyone who wants to attend a sales event can.
To access our store you will need to take the stairs to the second floor or use a freight elevator. If you require assistance with the wheelchair ramp and/or the freight elevator in our building, kindly send an e-mail at least 24 hours before the event so that we can have one of our volunteers available to assist you. When you arrive, ring the buzzer at the main entrance to let us know you've arrived.
Once inside our store, our aisles are wide enough for wheelchairs and strollers.
We offer an extra 30 minutes of shopping time available for customers who need more space, more assistance or a quieter environment. This shopping period is by appointment only and must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. It is meant for customers with mobility or sensory requirements. Email us to book your space and let us know of any special requirements you might have. Read more about this initiative.
Dog policy
OSF welcomes well-behaved dogs in our store as long as their owner is aware of and follows these guidelines:
- Dogs must remain on-leash or in a carrier.
- Dogs must be potty trained and vaccinated.
- Maintain control over your dog at all times.
- Immediately clean up any mess created by your dog.
- Any product damaged by a dog must be purchased by you.
- Maximum of one dog per person.
Failure to follow these guidelines may result in you being asked to leave. Thank you for abiding by these guidelines to ensure a pleasant shopping experience for all.
Bag Policy
For the comfort and safety of all shoppers, we kindly ask that backpacks and large bags be left at the cash desk while you shop. Additionally, we ask that you refrain from using your own shopping bags within the store. Please make use of the baskets we have provided to carry your items as you browse. Thank you for your cooperation!
