Our Social Fabric is a non-profit textile recycling initiative. We believe in a future where no usable fabric ends up in Canadian landfills. Through our unique fabric store, we sell donated fabrics and sewing-related materials that might otherwise be considered waste. Our donors include the film industry, clothing manufacturers and designers, and private individuals. We are proud to be part of the Canadian fibre arts and slow-fashion community providing affordable and sustainable materials.

We are looking for someone energetic and eager to learn to join our small but very friendly team. This entry position role would be a great fit for someone looking to find work to fit around their studies or other commitments. Applicants must have a passion for fabric, design or sewing and be keen to support our environmental vision. This role is eligible for our staff discount program.


Fulfillment Associate

Part Time: 20-24 hours per week

Schedule: Tue 10am-6pm, Wed 10am-2pm, Thu 11am-7pm

Additionally you will be required to work two Sundays per month, 10am-2pm.

Pay: $18ph

Job Description

  • fulfilling online pickup and shipped orders

  • managing customer pickups

  • managing cubby system

  • updating Shopify order status when orders are picked or picked up

  • uploading new products to Shopify, including products photos

  • maintaining Shopify products (eg. periodic inventories, low inventory notification)

  • maintaining tidy and organized stock shelves in order to facilitate efficient order picking

  • assisting Marketing Manager with product photos for Social Media when she is unable to be in the shop

  • manage online sales email account and communicate with customers when there are problems with their orders

  • make careful notes so all staff can determine the status of each order

  • may also include tasks relating to the receiving of donated textiles

Skills

  • Knowledge of and experience with textiles and environmentalism

  • Self starter with attention to detail

  • Able to work independently

  • Experience with e-Commerce fulfillment an asset (Shopify)

  • Experience with Trello (or other task management applications)

  • Must be able to lift a bolt or bin of fabric and willing to assist with shop cleanup

  • Organized

Reports to General Manager
