OSF Sale Event, Sunday, October 25, 10am-2pm

Hello everyone!
Our next Sale Event is this Sunday, October 25th from 10am to 2pm.
No pre-registration is needed but we will be following all our standard safety protocols including requirements for face coverings, safe distancing and sanitizing. One of our wonderful volunteers will be at the door to ensure that we don't exceed our customer quota. (See below for accessibility notes) OSF is Vancouver’s only non-profit textile recycling initiative – we are diverting textiles from the landfill and into the hands of creatives like you! 

WATERPROOF FASHION / TECHNICAL FLEECE
You can feel the chill in the air and OSF
is coming to the rescue! In keeping with our "coat" theme, we are delighted to share some high quality technical fabrics with you this Fall. In the photo on the left, yours truly has been busy again whipping up another jacket - I used the purple fashion fleece with the smooth, waterproof side on the outside and the soft peachy fleece on the inside. The outer fabric takes a good press and responds well to top-stitching. It is lightweight so, I'd recommend interfacing the collar and front facings with a light fusible knit. I used an older pattern Simplicity #7441 which has a fair amount of ease built in which is good for layering with wool sweaters. This sturdy and light weight fabric also comes in an brown/aqua colour. 

CAMOUFLAGE, WATER RESISTANT CANVAS
We've received a generous and interesting donation of new camouflage, water-resistant canvas fabric. This material is super strong, can hold off moisture and is ideal for packs and gear bags for the outdoors person in your life. The watery patterns are very fashion forward and would make a great "about-town" bag in any size - it will last forever! The Elements pattern is shown in this photo and we will also have other patterns including woodland and grassy camouflage patterns available on Sunday. 

FABULOUS $5 FINDS 
This week - stock up on Tiny Treasurers, Fill-A-Bag for $5 
AND - we need to make room for more books and magazines in our Library so, we're extending our sale to include Sewing Books Fill-A-Bag for $5. Christmas is coming, how about sewing and quilting books for all your sewing friends?

 LOCATION / ENTRANCE
Venables Street Entrance: From the parking lot, enter the MAIN BLUE door from the parking lot marked 1275 Venables. Walk up the stairs to the second floor and turn left. Follow the signs to OSF, Suite #270.

 WHERE TO PARK
Customers may park in VISITOR spots unless you are loading up your vehicle. On Thursdays you may park in front of the Russell Hendrix store after 4:00pm. On Saturdays and Sundays, there is ample parking in the parking lot and in front of the Russell Hendrix retail shop. There is parking on westbound Venables, west of Clark just past the parking lot entrance. Please park legally and avoid unwelcome surprises.

 ACCESSIBILITY
Accessibility: If you are coming to a Sale Event and require assistance with the wheelchair ramp and/or the freight elevator in our building, kindly send an e-mail to us a day or two before the event - we will have one of our volunteers available to assist you.
