2.8 tons saved from landfill in April

In April, our community diverted 5,680 pounds of fabric and sewing-related materials from landfill through Our Social Fabric.

That’s more than 2.8 tons of textiles and supplies given a second life - ready to be turned into quilts, garments, costumes, art projects, and more.

Every pound represents materials that were donated, sorted by volunteers, and chosen again by makers who believe in reuse. It’s a simple but powerful cycle that helps keep valuable textiles in circulation and out of landfill.

A huge thank you to everyone who makes this possible:

💚 Donors who pass along their fabric and sewing supplies

💚 Volunteers who help process incoming materials

💚 Shoppers who choose reclaimed textiles for their projects

Together, we’re proving that small actions - like donating unused fabric or choosing reclaimed materials - can add up to meaningful impact.
