đż 2025: The Year So Far at Our Social Fabric
Weâre halfway through 2025, and itâs a great time to pause and celebrate what our community has achieved together so far this year. Every metre of fabric rescued, every volunteer shift, every donation, and every purchase contributes to reducing textile waste and supporting people in our community.
Hereâs a look at the impact weâve made together in 2025 (so far!):
â»ïž 20,345 lbs of textile waste diverted from landfill
Thatâs over 20,000 pounds of fabric and notions given a second chance instead of heading to landfill. By choosing reclaimed materials, our customers and donors help keep usable textiles in circulation. Itâs one of the most effective ways to reduce the environmental footprint of sewing, quilting, and crafting.
đ 2,193 volunteer hours
Our volunteers are the heart of Our Social Fabric. This year alone, theyâve already contributed more than 2,000 hours sorting, folding, cutting, serving customers, preparing online orders, and much more. Every shift helps us keep quality reclaimed materials accessible and affordable.
We canât say it enough: thank you to every volunteer who shows up with their energy, skills, and generosity.
đȘĄ 2 sewing machines awarded through our scholarship program
We believe that access to tools shouldnât be a barrier to creativity or skill-building. Our Sew Fund(d) program provides free sewing machines to young community members who need them. So far this year, weâve awarded two machines to help new sewists continue their practice.
𧔠5 community projects supported with in-kind donations
Our Social Fabric is proud to support local groups making a difference. In the first half of 2025, weâve provided in-kind donations of fabric and materials to five community initiatives. These projects range from skill-building programs to creative community workshops, extending the impact of textile reuse even further.
Reducing Waste. Supporting Community.
None of this would be possible without you. Whether you shop with us, donate fabric and notions, volunteer your time, or help spread the word, youâre part of this work.
