The Year So Far at Our Social Fabric

We're excited to share the incredible progress we've made in 2024! In just the first six months, we've diverted a staggering 76,525 lbs of fabric and sewing materials from landfills—that's equivalent to the weight of 10 female African elephants! 🐘✨ This monumental effort highlights our commitment to sustainability and reducing waste.

At the heart of Our Social Fabric are our amazing volunteers. With 1,965 hours contributed, their dedication is making a real difference. We deeply appreciate our casual volunteers who assist at Rolling Bees and our regular volunteers who show up week after week to sort donations, prepare fabric for sale, and provide outstanding customer service at our sale events. Their hard work and passion are the backbone of our success. 

Our Sew Fun(d) scholarship program is another highlight of the year. We've awarded 5 sewing machines to high school students in the Metro Vancouver area, giving young designers the chance to start their creative journeys with brand-new equipment. And there's more to come later this year! 

Firmly rooted in our community, Our Social Fabric strives to support other nonprofits and educational institutions, sharing our successes to benefit many.
