4. Textile Embellishment (introductory level)

Decorating fabric is fun and requires only basic sewing skills. Join us as we learn easy ways to couch ribbon and yarn, sew on lace, turn buttons into tiny works of art and so much more. There are hundreds of ways to decorate fabric but this class will concentrate on the easiest ones. Embellishment techniques will include: sewing on sequins, appliques and lace; sewing on a decorative button, couching with ribbon, yarn and trim, hand and machine embroidery, pleating, and making “Yo-Yos”. Students will make a drawstring bag to showcase their embellishment techniques.
