Your favourite textile recycling shop will be open this week – we look forward to seeing you at our Sale Event on Thursday, June 13th at 2:00pm.
One of our favourite fabrics in the Shop and available in a variety of weights and colours is the ever versatile Lycra. Check out the capri length leggings we made in a rainbow of colours and the black leggings in the Shop on our man-mannequin – guys love leggings for working out, biking and just lounging around too! The heavier weight lycra is perfect for active wear and play-time for all the family. If you would like to try your hand at making the ever popular leggings, register for our sewing workshop “Pattern Drafting and Sewing – Capri Leggings“. You’ll learn how to adjust a pattern to your body type and cut out and sew a pair of capri-length leggings. You’ll leave with a custom pattern so you can make tons more at home (imagine summer shorts, knee-high work outs, casual capris and full length for the Fall and slipping into boots) Click HERE to visit our Workshops page for full descriptions and to register.
A fabulous donation came in last week from a costume designer/maker so we have lots of costume patterns – all uncut and priced at $1 each. Lots of beads in different sizes, beading supplies, rolls and rolls of ribbon in narrow to wide widths, glitter, feathers, rolls of sequins and stretch sequins. A table full of goodies!
Hiding in our storage area was this delightful bolt of denim-looking knit. I made a long-sleeved hoodie and some white shorts for a nautical look (you know, for when I’m out sailing around on my yacht!) It sews up beautifully with a soft brushed inner lining for those cool summer nights. Couldn’t resist making a matching pouch with a vintage doily.
100% cotton tube knit – super soft but with enough body for a tunic top or baby romper. This knit comes in a tube shape measuring 70cm across (140cm open). This would make a really nice summer sweater for guys or gals!
Quilting Books – 50% OFF!
We’ve pulled out our old stock of quilting books (’cause we got a whole bunch more!) and knocked the price down by 50%. Find the sale books in the Wovens section
AND the Spring Blow-Out Sale continues with fabric bundles reduced to 50% OFF – down the centre aisle.
Other Tid Bits
Stacks of 100% White Cotton Twill pieces and a few bags of Muslin will be available.
